In 2008 I was exposed to the Battling Ropes while working at a local big box gym. John Brookfield, inventor of the Battling Ropes, hosted a clinic at our facility. He took us through his philosophy on how velocity training builds serious strength, speed, and endurance. It was money well spent. The improvement that I’ve seen through using the Battling Ropes with my clients and myself are rather extraordinary. For me, the ropes pair well with the kettlebell, like peanut butter and jelly. My morning conditioning workout consists of super setting (back to back sets with no rest) kettlebell swings or snatches, with waves on the Battling Ropes. In fact, this is how I train for Dragon Door’s Russian Kettlebell Certification (RKC) snatch test, where 100 snatches must be completed in five minutes. Here is some additional feedback on why I program the Battling Ropes into your weekly workouts. John is interviewed by Dragon Door and here is what he has to say: https://www.dragondoor.com/why_battling_ropes_original_creator_answers_all_questions_interview_with_john_brookfield/
